Kasese NRM Registrar Pinned For Inclusion Of UPDF Soldiers In Voters’ Register
With just two days to the NRM party primary polls, a section of Aspirants in Hima town council, in Kasese district have showed dissatisfaction with the manner in which members are being added to the town council register.
These say the Hima town council registrar Madam Nabukenya Bernadette together and other people within the office have added ghost members in an attempt to rig the forth coming primary elections in the favors of those they support.
Some of the people that have been added include, UPDF soldiers, Congolese and Rwandese nationals among others.
While speaking in a meeting held at the NRM offices in Hima town council Bukombi Tom the LcIII chairperson aspirant for Hima town council pinned the registrar for being behind the inclusion of ghost members in the party register.
Bukombi also warned the entire office and more especially Nabukenya that should there be any kind of rigging in the forthcoming NRM primary elections, she will face the courts of law.
Bwambale John Bright is the district councilor aspirant representing Hima town council who also brought to the attention of the town council registrar and the NRM chairperson the inclusion of UPDF officers in the register; he added that this exercise was done in the barracks with the supervision of the village registrars.
Bright now wants NRM office to immediately take actions before the day of the polls to ensure that the ghost members in the register are not given chance to vote.
