Kasese Leaders and Residents Refute Allegations of a 12-yr-old Boy Impregnanting 12 Girls
Local leaders in Maliba sub-county Kasese district have teamed up to investigate news reports of 12 girls allegedly being impregnated by one boy in the sub county who is on the run.
Following the reports last week, the resident district commissioner (RDC) Kasese Lt. Joe Walusimbi warned parents to do their job if they don’t want to be arrested and tried in courts of law, adding that escalating child pregnancy cases have been caused by parents who have relaxed instead of teaching their children skills like crafts especially during this COVID-19 lockdown.
He also vowed to sanction operations against reckless parents as well as other stakeholders in fighting such acts.
According to the community development officer (CDO) for Maliba sub county Ms. Labongo Ruth, they are in touch with other leaders including LC 5 chairperson Bigogo Geoffrey.
Bigogo admits that there are some cases of child pregnancy in Maliba and other parts of Kasese but the case in question is not yet verified.
