Kanyike to be vetted next week
Sarah Kanyike, the newly appointed State Minister for Disability and the Elderly is to be vetted on Tuesday next week.
According to a July 23rd notice from the Clerk to Parliament to all Members of the Appointments Committee, the meeting is scheduled for 10am on July 28th.
Kanyike’s nomination was confirmed in a communication to Members of Parliament on the Appointments Committee yesterday.
President Museveni had in May this year nominated Kanyike as Director for Gender, Community Service and Production in the new changes at Kampala Capital City Athourity KCCA that also brought Dorothy Kisaka as Executive Director, replacing Andrew Kitaka who had been in the position since December 2018.
Kanyike’s appointment is one of the many previous moves by NRM to recapture Kampala since opposition has largely had the Kampala Mayoral seat under its control for most of the time the National Resistance Movement (NRM) government has been in power.
