Kamwenge Farmers Frustrated Over Crop Destruction by Animals
Farmers operating on Semuliki Estate along Rukunyu-Kabuga mast in Bukonderwa cell, Kitonzi ward, Kamwenge town council Kamwenge district have expressed their discontent over cattle keepers whose animals destroy their gardens day and night.
Led by Paul Ndahendekyire the chairperson for farmers, they want cattle keepers to be vigilant on their animals which have continuously destroyed crops of many farmers.
Farmers further explain that crops like maize, beans sorghum, millet, sweet potatoes are destroyed by animals every season, an act which puts their lives on stake to be heat by famine.
Other farmers headed by Buraziyo Bataringaya asked district authorities to intervene for a clear solution between cattle keepers and farmers in the area to avoid chaos.
