The High court in Kampala will tomorrow 8th, start hearing Prosecution evidence against three Lugogo Murder suspects; Mathew Kanyamunyu, his Brother Joseph Kanyamunyu and girl friend Cynthia Munwangari, who are accused of shooting Social Worker Kenneth Akena for scratching his car.
The incident occurred on 12th/November /2016 at Forest Mall-Lugogo along Kampala -Jinja Highway.
Last month, presiding Judge Steven Mubiru set 8th, 9th and 10th/January/2020 as the dates for the Prosecution to present its witnesses to testify against the accused persons who have since denied the allegation and are out on bail.
However besides the murder charge the trio are facing, DPP also preferred an alternative charge of being an accessory after the fact, against Joseph Kanyamunyu whom he accuses of having taken away the killer gun with an intention not to be used for analysis.
Mathew Kanyamunyu is suspected to have shot Akena, aged 33, in the stomach, on the fateful date, he died a day later at Norvik Hospital, along Bombo Road.
Prosecution mantains they maliciously caused Akena’s death.
