Kabale NRM Members Defy COVID-19 Guidelines
Over 1000 National Resistance Movement-NRM party members in Kabale district who were yesterday picking nomination forms to contest in the forthcoming party elections have disregarded the physical distancing guidelines issued by the Health Ministry to stop the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The activity to pick NRM nomination forms for LCIII Councilors, LCIII chairpersons, LCIV and LCIV councilors started yesterday countrywide and will end on 13th August 2020.
Our reporter visited the office of NRM Kabale in Kabale town where the event of picking nomination forms was taking place and found that NRM party members were not observing social distancing and no one measuring their temperatures, however, they wore face masks and sanitized before entering the offices.
The Kabale district National Resistance Movement-NRM registrar, Maurice Mugenga Keitaba admits that the party members were not observing social distancing.
He said that they are going to enforce the directives starting from today and urged the party members to adhere to the COVID-19 guidelines.
