Kabale man cuts step mother, brother to death, injures two others
A 43-year-old man in Kabale district is on the run after gruesomely cutting his step mother and brother to death and injured two others over domestic wrangles.
John Mugisha, a resident of Nyamugoma village in Kaharo parish, Kaharo Sub County cut to death Jacenta Birungi and her son Stephen Twebaze of the same residence.
He also injured Annah Tukamushaba and another only identified as Kabuga who are also step children of Mugisha.
According Bernard Turyahumura, an area resident, the incident occurred yesterday evening at Nyabitabo trading Centre where Mugisha who was armed with a panga found Tumwebaze having a social hour with friends and cut him into pieces.
Turyahumura said that Mugisha rushed home in Nyamugoma village where he found Birungi preparing supper and cut her into pieces. He adds that as Tukamushaba and Kabuga tried to make an alarm, Mugisha also cut and injured them.
The Kabale District Police Commander Brian Ampeire while addressing residents at Nyabitabo trading Centre said that efforts to trace the suspect are underway.
Ampeire said that the injured are admitted at Kabale regional referral hospital.
