Kabale – Kigezi High school closed
Kigezi High School in Kabale district has been closed until further notice following a violent strike sparked by fees defaulters refusing to vacate the school premises on 7th October when they were sent home.
This forced the head teacher Stephen Mugume to call in police to force them out, which angered the rest of the students claiming they were tired of their head teacher who they accused of mismanaging the school.
With the situation out hand, the school’s chairperson board of governors Rev. Dr. Medard Rugyendo intervened and ordered all students to go home, save for the S4s who commence their final exams on Monday.
This is the third strike at the school this year, with the previous one held last term where S6 students went on rampage, accusing their S4 counterparts of putting on trousers instead of khaki shorts.
