Isingiro SACCOs leadership accused of mismanagement and corruption
There is escalating disagreement between members of Kabuyanda Agricultural SACCOs in Isingiro district and its leadership over alleged mismanagement of shs2.5 billion and corruption.
The members accuse some SACCOs’ leaders of fraudulently obtaining money, leaving the coffers dry which has paralysed operation of SACCOs.
The aggrieved members, led by Francis Mulwani, want an audit conducted to establish the loss and the responsible people arrested and punished.
The majority of the SACCOS members mainly small-scale traders across the district, said the general manager identified as Agaba Godfrey blocked the general meeting for fear of being asked to account for the money.
