Isingiro district authorities embark on hunting for COVID_19 patient contacts
Authorities in Isingiro district have embarked on hunting for a COVID_19 patient contacts as well as asking people in Kikagate town council who could have come in contact with the recent intercepted covid-19 positive truck driver to voluntarily avail themselves to the health officials for better management.
Patrick Kajumba,the LC 3 chairperson Kaberebere town council in Isingiro district said that the truck driver could have interacted with locals at the border which is a great threat to the public.
Kajumba noted that once those who could have contacted with the truck driver avail themselves, it will save the population.
Kajumba is also calling upon Ugandans to adhere to the new guidelines that were put by the president if the lockdown is to be eased.
The patient is a Ugandan truck driver who tested positive at Mirama hills from Rwanda and was intercepted in Kikagate en route to Tanzania on Tuesday May 19,2020 this week. He is now isolated and being treated at Mbarara regional referral hospital with another truck driver who entered via Malaba and was intercepted in Mirama hills No Man’s Land.
