Ibanda – Christmas dedicated to families
Christians at St. Paul church in Ibanda district this christmas focused on praying for failing marriages and the youth finding the right partners in the New Year.
The archdeacon of Ibanda archdeaconry Rev. Can. Yoram Atwiine also prayed for the unemployed to find employment, peace in forth coming elections, peace in Burundi and other countries where Christians were fearful for their future, with those in Somalia prohibited from celebrating the holy day saying the festivities might attract Islamist attacks.
Can. Yoram reminded Christians that Christmas should not only be celebrated through merry-making, but by accepting Jesus as their savior.
Similary, in a homily, the Catholic parish priest of St. Charles Lwanga Bubare catholic parish in Ibanda district, Rev. Fr. Tailo Eladius condemned what he called violence in the current electioneering period and asked voters and candidates in next year’s general elections to be agents of peace.
