Hundreds of Motorcycles impounded in Kampala today
Kampala Capital City Authority KCCA has asked Police to suspend operations enforcing the newly created Boda boda Free zone, giving the operators a one-month grace period following today’s operation where hundreds of motorcycles were impounded.
This follows operations early in the day, in which hundreds of motorcycles were impounded in line with a directive restricting Bada bodas from the Central Business District, as part of the efforts to control traffic and congestion.
KCCA Spokesperson Daniel Nuwabiine says the grace period seeks to have riders register with alternative stages outside the city center from where they will be operating.
