Hailstorm leaves Ibanda residents in tears
Peasants from Kihani 2 in Kikyenkye Sub County Ibanda South are in tears after a heavy rainfall characterized by hailstorm destroyed their gardens and livestock on Wednesday this week.
Most of the affected people are from Kihani Parish.
Peasants led by Nzerena Kengudo, Kekikomera Dolonsia, Agumenaitwe Immaculate says the heavy rain destroyed food crops, houses, Banana Plantations among others and are they are likely to die of hunger if
the Government doesn’t intervene quickly.
According to Byarugaba David the chairperson LC1 Kyanyakabiri cell in Kihani parish, top political leaders especially Members of parliament need to intervene and supply relief food but also the affected need people to re-plant other food crops immediately since it is rainy season.
Eng John Byabagambi the Ibanda South Member of Parliament says it unfortunate because the disaster left many without what to eat in future as he pledged to support them.
