Gov’t officials meet ahead of presidential address on COVID19
As President Museveni prepares to speak to the Nation this evening, top government officials have today held a meeting at State House Entebbe to discuss the possible reopening of some of the remaining sectors of the economy.
Government started easing COVID-19 restrictions a month ago, but saloons, most arcades, bars, bodabodas, churches, schools, and other public gatherings have remained closed.
However, last week, Minister of Trade Amelia Kyambadde announced that up at least 48 arcades in Kampala had been recommended for reopening, but were awaiting a decision from the President.
