Fuel tanker catches fire in Bushenyi leaving one dead and motorcycles burnt
One person has died and 1 injured in an accident involving a fuel tanker along the Ishaka-Kagamba road Bushenyi district.
Martial Tumusiime, the greater Bushenyi region police spokesperson said that the driver of the fuel truck lost control as he was sloping Omukatagu hill in Ibaare sub county Bushenyi district and overturned today,April 8,2021, around 2pm.
Tumusiime said the driver of the truck reg. SSD 802H whose names have not been identified was rushed to Kitagata hospital in critical condition while the turnboy only Identified as Edrisa died on spot.
One boda boda rider was also injured and 2 motorcycles were burnt after they had come to siphon the fuel.
The injured boda boda cyclists are Vicent Twijukye and 2 burnt motorcycles are reg. no. UEW 438Q and UET 869R.
Police has deployed a fire brigade truck from Bushenyi to put off the fire as investigations continue.
