‘First remove the boot off my neck,’ – Presidential hopeful Bobi Wine to First Son.
Twitter (Uganda)has been dominated by #MuhooziProject as different people post different content centering on the First Son Muhoozi Kainerugaba,45,a Lieutenant General (Lt. Gen.) in the Uganda People’s Defence Force and former commander of the Special Forces Command (SFC) who is currently serving as Senior Presidential Adviser for Special Operations since 2017.
His comment: Some evil people coined this phrase to try and destroy us! But trust my generation to convert every curse into a blessing! Thank you Ugandans!
The trending hashtag was followed by the First Son’s tweet that prompted the Presidential hopeful, Kyadondo East Legislator Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu,36,(stage name Bobi Wine) to comment with an ‘invisible meaning’ tweet.
Muhoozi’s March 5,2020 tweet: A lot of my supporters are telling me to sit down and talk to my brother Bobi Wine. I have no problem talking to him, we talked in the past and were friends. I just advise all the youth never to seek war over peace.
Bobi’s response: I’m open to transparent talks with anyone but before that, you & your father should stop actions that’ve left many orphans, widows & torture victims. Respect human rights & rule of law. Only free men can negotiate. Remove the boot off my neck & I’ll have a voice to speak with you.
Bobi Wine who has already revealed his 2021 presidential bid, officially joined politics after winning the Member of Parliament seat on 11 July 2017, to represent Kyadondo East constituency in Wakiso District Central Uganda. He has since tasted, and still feeling the consequences of being a famous government critic, especially in Uganda.
