Fiji Rugby Union suspends Amenoni Nasilasila over rape allegations
The Fiji Rugby Union confirmed on Tuesday that Amenoni Nasilasila has been suspended from training and also playing for the Men’s National 7s team.
Nasilasila is charged with one count of rape. He has also been issued an interim Domestic Violence Restraining Order.
Nasilasila is alleged to have raped a 24 year old woman in Olosara, Sigatoka on the 22nd last month.
Fiji Rugby Union Chief Executive John O’Connor says Nasilasila will not be part of the training squad and will not travel with the squad in any 7s tournament at this moment.
The 31 year old made his sevens debut for Fiji at the 2014 Dubai Sevens.
He also represented his provincial side, Navosa in the Skipper Cup playing at playmaker and halfback.
