FDC Dragged to Court for Refusing to Hold Party Primaries in Kyadondo East
Kyadondo East MP Aspirant Ssozi Rajjabu has dragged FDC to court seeking orders compelling his party to hold the party primaries for Kyadondo East Constituency in Wakiso District; so that he can contest against former MP Apollo Kantinti with whom they are vying for this seat.
Ssozi argues that he has no problem with the former Legislator who lost to Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi in the 2016 elections, but that FDC should organise Party Primaries in this Constituency and the people decide who should represent them on the FDC ticket.
But that failure to hold the said Primaries; FDC should be ordered to endorse him (Ssozi Rajab) as the only FDC’s flag bearer in the said Constituency for MP in Wakiso District.
Through Kigenyi-Opira and Company Advocates; Ssozi says he is member of FDC, and expressed his interest and willingness to stand on the FDC ticket for the position of MP Kyadondo East.
That FDC issued the electoral party road map for 2020 which was not fully implemented by FDC in Kyadondo East; yet its mandated by law to organize and hold party primaries before candidates participate in the national general elections.
Ssozi’s grievance has been received by the High court Civil Division this morning; whose Registrar is yet to allocate a Judge to give it a date for hearing and also summon FDC to respond.
