Dr. Stella Nyanzi released on police bond.
Makerere University Researcher Dr. Stellah Nyanzi is released on police bond following her arrest on Monday after staging a demonstration in protest of selective and slow relief food distribution by Government; to people affected by the Nation wide COVID-19 lock down.
Nyanzi together with four other human rights activists; was arrested near Buganda Road court premises and detained at Central Police Station in Kampala including Music Promoter Andrew Mukasa (Bajjo Events)
The group had camped with cooking utensils (saucepans and spoons ) and a small drum which they kept on banging while demanding for food relief from government.
The group was also armed with placards that bore inscriptions demanding for food aid.
Nyanzi and her co-suspects have been ordered to report back to police on 27th/May next week to answer to charges of disobedience of lawful orders intended to prevent the spread of corona virus.
