Dr. Kizza Besigye attends FDC manifesto launch, number of MPs and Ministers to be cut
Former Forum for Democratic Change-FDC presidential candidate Dr. Kizza Besigye has today joined the party’s 2021-26 presidential candidate Patrick Amuriat Oboi-POA to launch their manifesto in Hoima city.
In the manifesto, the FDC will cut the number of ministers to 42 and reduce the number of MPs from about 425 currently, to ensure that each district has only 2 representatives in parliament.
State institutions will be rebuilt, depoliticize the army and parliament, as well as send 50% of the national budget to local governments to improve service delivery.
The party also pledges to restore the rule of law by fully restoring the 1995 constitution.
On oil which has been in Bunyoro since 1830s but was officially confirmed in 1990s, Oboi mets Bunyoro kingdom officials including the administrator Alex Katusabe representing Omukama Rukirabasaija Agutamba Solomon Gafabusa Iguru I. He says he’ll give 5% of oil revenue to Bunyoro people.
