Bushenyi district leaders have decried poor sanitation and hygiene in government aided primary schools in the district.
This was during the multi sector monitoring for nutrition project in the beneficiary schools this week in Nyabubaare and Ibaare sub counties.
According to the district vice chairperson Bushenyi Peter Mugume Ndyahoza, sanitation and hygiene in some visited schools have deteriorated which he said may cause the outbreak of serious diseases.
The District Health Inspector Officer Gregory Tushabe said sanitation in those schools is poor right from the latrines and bathrooms to the food stores and said the schools head teachers and teachers are not being exemplary to their pupils.
