UGANDA: Development Channel Boss Arrested
Police at Jinja Road Police Station has arrested the Development Channel director trying to flee the country after conning millions of cash from clients.
A British-Nigerian Charles Nwabuikwu,44, was arrested for the second time in a period of four months on allegations of fleecing money from Ugandans in a grand scam deal.
He was first arrested on August 23, 2018 by Police at Kira Road Station after angry employees from various transport companies tried to set ablaze one of the premises owned by Development Channel and also trying to lynch him over their unpaid arrears.
He was arrested in Kampala central Uganda, for running a scam company, disguising as an investor,collecting millions of money from Ugandans on promise of various assets/property.
Ms Sharon Nakkazi, 24, a marketeer told police that she paid a sum of 270$ for a ‘No Drop Out tablet’ in January 2018 and was promised a guaranteed monthly payment of US$ 100 for the rest of her life, but had received nothing in 10 months hence opening up a case of obtaining money by false pretence vide SD REF 64/21/09/2018.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police,over 70 people (clients) have lodged complaints against Nwabuikwu.
He has been fleecing money under his scam Development Channel,until he was netted.
According to sources,he had since October hired 63 Prado SUVs to transport different dignitaries around Uganda on a deal of daily income.
