Deal With Politicians Collecting National IDs From Voters – Dr. Tanga Odoi Orders Mbarara RDC
The National Resistance Movement Electoral Commission chairman Dr. Tanga Odoi has ordered the security team led by the RDC Mbarara to beef up security on politicians that are soliciting National identity cards from voters after giving them ugx 10000 each.
It is alleged that some politicians vying for different seats in the NRM primaries pay voters Shs.10000 for each National identity card collected so that they are voted come Friday, 4th Sept. 2020.
Tanga Odoi made these remarks over the weekend while meeting NRM candidates from Mbarara and Isingiro districts at party headquarters in Booma Mbarara city.
Dr. Tanga Odoi’s comments came after Mrs.Jolly Kagira Tumwine the woman member of parliament aspirant Mbarara district complained of politicians who are busy soliciting National identity cards from voters after giving them UGX 10,000 each to vote for them in the fourth coming NRM primaries.
Itogoro Mark Nyabihemu a reknown journalist who is currently vying for Kashari North county parliamentary seat revealed that in his area, politicians are bribing voters with money to disorganise the NRM primaries slated for Friday 4th September, 2020.
Richard Tabaro who is aspiring for Mbarara district chairman expressed his worries on how the incumbent Capt. Bamuturaki is spreading propaganda on ground that he is not going to leave office for Tabaro even if the latter wins.
Tanga Odoi thanked the political aspirants in Mbarara and Isingiro districts for the good discipline so far portrayed compared to other districts of Rwampara and Bushenyi where politicians are using hate speech.
