COVID_19: Prices terribly increase,Mbarara trader suspended for refusal to pay Sh1000
Mbarara central market authorities have today March 23,2020 suspended a trader,a one Joselyne for defying #COVID_19 prevention measures and using abusive language.
She refused to contribute Sh1000 daily for buying soap and water so she’ll operate after 2 weeks plus reporting with 20 litres of liquid soap.
According to the market spokesperson Mr. Kibanda Donozio,on top of using abusive language on authorities,the big-headed lady insisted she couldn’t pay claiming she didn’t have the money.
The authorities recently resolved to collect Sh1000 daily from each trader out of about 800 occupants in the market,to cater for the preventive measures including water and soap for washing during this 30/32 days lockdown.
Meanwhile,commodity prices have already terribly increased,with a packet of salt going for Sh1800 from 800,a Kg of Sugar at Sh4000 from 3500,beef from 11000 to 12000 per Kg, goat’s meat from 12,000 to 14,000 per Kg,Fish from 9,000 to 10,000 per Kg,and others.
