COVID_19: 21 people arrested in Kabale
Police in Kabale District has arrested 21 people for defying Presidential
directives on public gatherings as one of the measures that prevent
the spread of Covid-19 in the country.
Last Month, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni suspended all public
gatherings including bars for 32 days. All gatherings of more than 5
people were also suspended.
However, police in Kabale yesterday evening carried an operation
against those defying the directive where both bar operators and their
customers arrested. The operation was carried out in the areas of
Bugongi in Northern division, Kekubo and in Mwanjari in southern
division Kabale Municipality.
The Kabale District Police Commander Brian Ampaire told our reporter
that some of the suspects were found drinking alcohol in the operation.
He said that the suspects are detained at Kabale central police
station and they will be charged with disobedience of lawful orders.
