Companies Urged to Respect Customers’ Health before Profits.
Movit Products Ltd category manager in charge of Body Care products,Mr.Robert Kitenda has urged different companies including cosmetic companies, beverage companies and all businesspeople to respect customers’ health before profits.
While speaking to Crooze Fm at Kakyeeka playground during the trade fair in Mbarara town,Kitenda revealed that many companies have concentrated on increasing profits and some have been prompted to end up in black market, plus production of poisonous and harmful products.
The trade fair which started Seven Days ago will end on Sunday June 30, 2019, has attracted different exhibitors ranging from companies, small scale businessmen and other participants from Mbarara and other districts.
Asked about the standard of products, the Movit body care products Category manager expressed concern over how the Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) body has not performed to Ugandans’ expectation in regulating quality of products on Ugandan Market.
Movit which was founded in 1997 currently has about 280 products, with new coming on Market, has not registered a ‘Poor Standard’ implication, unlike some cosmetic companies which are accused of smuggling poor quality products.
According to Mrs. Kyokutamba Judith who is the media coordinator, the turn up has been 50-50 compared to previous trade fairs.
