Commodity prices slightly increase in Mbarara for the month of February
Prices of food in Rwebikoona and Central Markets have slightly increased in the month of February.
A small survey done in the two different markets shows price increments of several commodities including; Tomatoes costing Shs35000 a basin up from 30,000, A tray of eggs going for Shs13, 000 up from 10,000, Beans at Shs 4000 and 3800 a kilogram up from Shs3000 in Central market and Rwebikoona respectively, a sack of charcoal at 60,000 shillings up from 50,000 among others.
However, Matooke prices in both markets have continued to go down with a very big bunch going for Shs7000-10,000 and an averagely small one costing 3000.
The vendors have attributed this to the increased supply of Matooke on the market throughout the month.
