Coca-Cola donates jerrycans, water tank and drinks to Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital
Coca-Cola Uganda has today donated 300 jerrycans, a 5000 litre water tank to help in hand washing and 30 cartons of drinks to Mbarara regional referral hospital as part of the national donation in the fight against coronavirus pandemic.
While handing over the donations to the task force team including hospital director Dr Celestine Barigye and district health officer (DHO) Dr Peter Ssebutinde, the manufacturing manager for Makenke Mbarara plant Joackim Baluku said coca-cola is still giving back to the public despite social media misconception about donating jerrycans.
The company has so far given logistical and financial support in form of 3 Hilux cars and over shs1 billion respectively.
According to the DHO, the public has relaxed in washing hands warning that this may increase chances of the coronavirus spreading.
The referral director said this donation will be separated and they will share with the municipal health centre IV hospital.
Mbarara has as of Wednesday, July 29, 2020 received 36 cases, 29 recovered, remaining with 7 patients and 15 Kenyans have been sent back to Kenya.
