Carly Fiorina launches bid for Republican 2016 nomination
Carly Fiorina, the former chief executive of Hewlett-Packard, has announced that she is running for the Republican nomination for president.
Ms Fiorina is likely to be the only prominent female to run for president as a Republican.
Unlike other candidates who’ve held large rallies, the former tech boss made her announcement on a nationally broadcast breakfast programme.
Neurosurgeon Ben Carson is also expected to enter the race today.
Both Ms Fiorina and Mr Carson are political outsiders entering a race that is expected to be dominated by senators, and current and former governors.
