Budget deficits blamed to Ugandan government’s failure to heed advice.
Secretary to treasury Keith Muhakanizi has attributed the budget deficits on government’s failure to heed to his advice.
Muhakanizi made the remarks after members on the finance committee tasked him to explain the budget deficits with the ministry of finance already showing that the country is experiencing over 600 billion deficit in revenue collection and is planning to domestically borrow money to cover the deficit.
Muhakanizi informed the mps that both the executive and parliament have been creating administrative units which increases spending pressures and says despite his advise both arms have been ignoring it.
The accountant general Lawrence Semakula decried the limited allocations to pay debts, non performing loans yet government is required to pay commitment fees and court awards.
