Borders and Entebbe international airport reopen
After nearly 7 months of closure, Entebbe International Airport has reopened today to passenger flights with the first flight of Turkish Airlines that arrived at 3 am.
Tthe management of Uganda Airlines say it is ensuring all measures to observe the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPS) in the fight against COVID-19.
According to the executive director Uganda Tourism Board Lilly Ajarova, the international recognition that Uganda has attained for being among the 19 best countries in the fight against COVID-19 worldwide is paramount in the recovery of the country’s tourism sector.
Government says travelers arriving through Entebbe International Airport will not be quarantined but will be given guidance on self-isolation; all are required to carry a COVID-19 negative test certificate obtained at least 72 hours earlier as the borders and the airport reopen today.
