Bobi Wine accused of politicizing gospel song
Barely a day after Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi unveiled his new song titled, Tuliyambala Engule, a section of Ugandans have accused him of distorting the Christian heritage for his political campaigns.
Pastor Martin Ssempa, a Ugandan activist and founder of the Makerere Community Church has accused Bobi Wine of changing the message of the song. According to him, Bobi Wine in the song holds himself as the future messiah who replaces Jesus.
Sempa says that the song talks about a believer’s good fight as a Pilgrim headed for heaven, expressing worry that Bobi Wine has extorted the religious song for his political movement.
In the song containing political message, Bobi Wine talks of how they shall wear the victor’s crown when the struggle is finally over, referring to the removal of NRM and President Museveni.
