Boateng, Ayew and Essien not returning now
Kevin-Prince Boateng, Michael Essien and Andre Ayew are not returning to the Ghana team immediately, according to assistant coach Maxwell Konadu.
Boateng chose to leave the national team for good in 2011 and has been widely rumoured as wanting a return, while Essien and Andre Ayew have also asked for time to concentrate on their club careers for various reasons.
Konadu has revealed that he has no idea, however, when the trio will come back. Even if they do, it will not be immediately.
“As of now I don’t know if Kevin Prince Boateng is coming back to the Black Stars or not,” the former Kotoko boss said.
“I have not heard anything and even head coach Kwesi Appiah does not know, so for now we have no idea if he and Essien and even Andre Ayew will be back soon.”
The Black Stars are scheduled for two crunch games in June with Sudan and Lesotho that will define their status in World Cup qualifying.
