Beheaded girl’s body handed over to parents
Police yesterday, September 24,2020 handed over the body of a five-year-old girl identified as Faith Kyamagero who was beheaded and the killer arrested at Parliament on September 14,2020 delivering the head disguised as a gift to speaker Rebecca Kadaga.
Charles Twiine, the spokesperson of the criminal investigations directorate (CID) said all the necessary medical examinations on Kyamagero had been done and police handed over the body to the parents at city mortuary Mulago in Kampala.
Mr Charles Ssenyonga, the deceased’s father questioned the suspect’s motive since “he was very obedient, humble and hardworking the time they stayed with him”.
Kyamagero was killed between Sept 13 – 14 and the suspect, Joseph Nuwashaba 22 who was welcomed and given shelter by the deceased’s family in May claiming he was homeless, is still under investigation.
Ms Gloria Kentunguka, the deceased’s mother said they had bought the suspect a phone as he requested 3 days before the killing and police is still investigating the motive behind the gruesome murder.

Joseph who is accused of raping and beheading Faith was on Friday,September 25, 2020 arraigned before Masaka Magistrates’ Court and charged with three counts;murder, aggravated defilement and child trafficking.
The Grade One Magistrate, Grace Wakooli read Nuwashaba the charges but declined him from taking plea to the same, saying the offences were capital in nature,only tried by the High Court and she adjourned the case to October 12, 2020 for mention.
Prosecution claims that on September 13, 2020 at Kijjabwemi village in Masaka city central Uganda, the accused lured Kyamagero from her parents’ home with intent to traffic her, later raped and beheaded her, abandoning the headless body in the bush.
The suspect recently confessed before Buganda Road Chief Magistrates’ Court in Kampala and the head of Criminal Investigations Directorate, Grace Akullo also confirmed that Nuwashaba had recorded an ‘extra-judicial statement.’
The deceased was buried on Friday, September 25,2020 at Kijjabwemi village in Masaka city central Uganda.
