Aspirants Warned Against Bribing Voters in NRM Primaries
The National Resistance Movement NRM Electoral Commission Chairman Dr. Tanga Odoi has cautioned the Party candidates for NRM primaries to shun from using money to bribe voters in the forthcoming primary elections scheduled for Friday 4th September, 2020.
Addressing NRM candidates at Bushenyi district council Hall, Tanga said NRM will not tolerate any unlawful act during elections saying NRM elections are becoming a center of confusion.
Tanga added that the electoral commission is only in charge of elections and declaring winners, not any other person as people claimed.
However, he also appealed to candidates to observe standard operating procedures SOPs set up by the ministry of health saying it has been reported several times that NRM Aspirants have continuosly abused the precautions.
Minister for general duties Mary Karooro Okurut appealed for calm saying there is life after politics and she further condemned the act of violence calling for peaceful elections.
