All NRM Aspirants Must Test for COVID19
The National Resistance Movement NRM has insisted that all aspirants for district chairpersons and Members of Parliament must have certificates proving that they tested negative of COVID-19 before they are nominated.
Dr. Tanga Odoi, the NRM electoral commission chairman says that they will ensure the Presidential directive and all political aspirants will first test for the virus before they go to the population to canvass for votes is enforced.
This development comes at a time when Uganda has confirmed its fifth COVID-19 death in less than two weeks, and when two senior employees at the NRM secretariat tested positive for the virus.
Meanwhile, 2054 aspirants have expressed interest in contesting for LCV and Member of Parliament positions on the NRM ticket.
