All Boss Bodas in Kampala to be Registed
In a bid to streamline boda boda operations in the city, government has announced 90 days for the registration of all boda boda riders who plan to operate within Kampala.
Addressing a joint press conference today in Kampala the minister for Kampala Betty Amongi says all boda boda operators will register from all respective KCCA division offices with an online registration option in place via the authority’s web portal.
The registration which starts from 1st August to 1st November this year will see the full operationalization of the Kampala free boda boda zone.
The minister further says, Kampala boda boda free zone will see boda bodas out of the central business area and replaced with low-cost buses. Cue.Amongi.Eng.
However, the works and transport minister General Katumba Wamala urges all boda riders to follow the set SOPs to avoid spreading COVID19.Cue.katimbaEng&Lug.
KCCA has already demarcated 585 boda boda stages where all boda operators are required to register free of charge if they are to be allowed to operate within Kampala.
