9-year-old Congolese girl dies of Ebola in Kasese district western Uganda.
Western Uganda – A nine-year-old Congolese girl diagnosed with Ebola in Kasese district Uganda has died.
According to the Health ministry, the deceased travelled to Uganda with her mother, via Mpondwe border on Wednesday,August,28th August 2019 to seek medical care in Bwera Kasese District.
She was subsequently isolated and taken to Bwera hospital Ebola Treatment unit where she has been before authorities announced her death.
The World Health Organization (WHO) says 300 vaccine doses have been dispatched to Bwera Hospital near the Congolese border.
In June 2019, there were 2 Ebola deaths in Uganda.
Uganda has maintained screening centres along its border with DR Congo in an effort to stop the spread of the virus that has killed more than 2,000 people since the outbreak began last August.
