78 districts in Eastern region, southern region have not received their April salary.
Members of Parliament have tasked the ministry of finance to clarify on why some of the public servants have not yet received their salaries for the last two months.
The matter was first raised by the Ngora county Mp David Abala who noted that public servants in Ngora district local government have not received their salaries for the past two months and he says that this has been the same with pensioners in the district.
Abala says that its important to have these public servants paid their salaries and wonders what is causing the delays.
The minister of state for planning David Bahati at first informed parliament that he will follow up on the matter but workers mp Margret Rwabushaija also informed mps that she has a list of 78 districts in Eastern region, southern region, karamoja region and Teso and says that all public servants in these regions have not received their April salary.
The minister for finance Matia Kasaija informed the aggrieved mps that it cannot be possible that public servants have not received their salaries saying that if this is happening the problem must be from somewhere else and not ministry of finance.
