Weird-Four-year-old nursery pupil becomes town’s mayor.
A four-year-old boy has found himself having to worry about more than just what his mum has packed for his lunch after being voted in as his town’s mayor.
Robert Tufts became an unlikely leader at the tender age after entering his name into a raffle in Dorset, Minnesota.
For some reason the American town, which has a population of 22, selects its mayor by picking names out of a hat and this time it was the nursery pupil’s turn to be chosen.
Robert Tufts is mayor at just four-years-old
For his part, Robert seemed to be settling in well and even answered a few questions from the media, including how many girls he has dated and what bait he liked to use when fishing.
‘He’s amazing. He’s just completely amazing,’ said Kathy Schmidt, who lives in the town.
‘He’s right in your face and well-spoken. You can’t imagine what a ball of fire he is.’
Robert is not the first young leader of Dorset, with the town having previously had a five-year-old in charge (and he wasn’t even a local).
Luckily for everyone living in the town the mayor has no real power and decisions are made by a local business.
