War Crimes Court confirms 93 charges against LRA’s Thomas Kwoyelo, his trial starts next month
The International Crimes Division court Judge Susan Okalany has confirmed 93 charges against Thomas Kwo-yelo, a former commander in the Lord’s Resistance Army.
Justice Susan Okalany ruled that after a thorough examination of the charges and Prosecution’s intended evidence plus exhibits against him, she is satisfied that it is sufficient enough to require Kwo-yelo stand trial.
Senior State Attorneys Charles Kamuli, William Byansi and Akello Florence are representing the Directorate of Public Prosecution in this case.
Justice Okalany has now committed Thomas Kwo-yelo to face trial before a panel of 3 Justices that will sit at Gulu High court on 23rd September to hear this evidence and determine whether Kwo-yelo is guilty of the alleged offences.
