UPC’s Akena Calls for development of Political Institutions
The Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) party president, also Lira municipality mp Jimmy Akena , calls for strengthening of political institutions for future development of politics in uganda.
Speaking to journalists at parliament yesterday, Akena noted that political parties should not look at individuals for the growth parties unless political players are working together for a common purpose.
Akena’s statement comes at the time when FDC party members are divided, reports say that some members were behind former FDC president col kizza Besigye while others were for former president Mugisha Muntu .
The Upc party currently also has two factions, one following Akena and the other following ambassador Olara otunu.
