UNRA forged signatures to award contracts
As the commission of inquiry into corruption at UNRA continues, new evidence reveals Directors at the roads authority forged signatures to authorize procurement of consultancy services.
Former Head of Procurement at UNRA Mr Dan Mugura testified to the commission that he chose to resign in 2011 due to other Directorates grabbing his powers which he reported to then Executive Director but nothing was done.
Mugura went on to say that at several instances his name would be typed on documents and a forged signature written below it.
Mugura said he came to learn about all the fraud and forged signatures recently upon his summons to the commission.
The commission is investigation allegations of corruption, influence peddling and abuse of office by UNRA officials that have cost the taxpayer billions of shillings.
