Tooro Kingdom to start fundraising drive for 22nd coronation anniversary
Tooro Kingdom has started a fundraising drive for the 22nd coronation anniversary of King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV. Last month, the kingdom released a budget of 400 million shillings for the event scheduled for September 14th at the royal palace in Fort Portal town. The King selected youths to organise the event.
Moses Isingoma, the spokesperson of the organizing committee says that in a bid for the event to be a success, fundraising drives will be carried out in schools, churches, clans and in all the kingdom counties. He says they expect to raise the required funds before the end of this month.
Ronald Aguma, a member of the committee says that subjects especially the youth should come out and contribute to the event. He says the King selecting the youth to organise the event will motivate them to take part in kingdom activities in future.
