Theo Walcott has signed a new four-year contract at Arsenal
The England forward’s new deal sees him earn in the region of £140,000 a week alongside the likes of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil.
Walcott, who is Arsenal’s longest-serving player, suffered an injury-ravaged campaign last season but has been on form this summer, netting the winner against Wolfsburg in last weekend’s Emirates Cup.
Arsenal have also confirmed that midfielder Santi Cazorla has extended his stay at the Emirates until 2017 after the club decided to take up the option of another year on his contract.
Walcott has long stated his desire to play in a central attacking role and will compete with Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck for that slot in Wenger’s side.
