State house anti-corruption unit arrests another set of ‘corrupt government officials’
The State House Anti-Corruption monitoring team led by Edith Nakalema has arrested three Jinja District officials on allegations of abuse of office.
The suspects include the Kakira Town Council Assistant Town Clerk, Davis Gulare, Peter Mulavu, the Town Council Auditor and Fred Kisige, the Bugembe Town Council Engineer.
The State House Presidential Private Media Assistant, Farouk Kirunda, says the three while still working in Bugembe Town Council, received money for implementation of government projects but all the work done was shoddy.
Kirunda, who cited work at Bugembe Abattoir and other construction works, says the suspects are to be arraigned before the Anti-Corruption Court in Kampala to face corruption charges resulting into loss of government funds.
