Speaker Kadaga stings Government again
The speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga notes with concern the Government continued tendencies of interrupting the parliament calendar by scheduling its programs the way they want.
This in relation to the upcoming NRM retreat that starts tomorrow in Kyankwanzi where all NRM mps are required to attend for a full week.
This forced parliament to adjust its program to have plenary sit this morning to conduct some business before the NRM mps who constitute the majority number in the house can leave for this retreat.
Kadaga notes that such programs would be held in recess periods as all is clearly indicated in parliament calendar to avoid the disruption of parliament programs.
Last year, Kadaga raised concerns over cabinet Ministers missing sittings, while attending cabinet ministers. She questioned the decisiomn for cabinet to sit at at the same time when parliament is supposed to be in session on thursday. Government responded by rescheduling cabinet meetings from thursday to monday .
