Single candidate can’t beat M7 – Strategist
Kalinge Nnyago, a prominent opposition strategist has warned that the move by the Democratic Alliance to front a single candidate in the 2016 elections will backfire.
This is the first time a top opposition member is questioning the viability of different political groups unite around an individual to remove President Museveni from power.
In an interview with a reliable source yesterday, Kalinge said the “most unfortunate misunderstanding by Uganda’s opposition is to consider Yoweri Museveni a single candidate – who should then be matched with a single ‘strong’ opposition candidate.’”
Kalinge, who recently resigned from JEEMA to stand for president in the 2016 polls on an independent ticket, said, “Whoever stands against Museveni is standing against the state with all its agencies…and a surplus of business interests both local and international.
