Sheikh Kamoga Bail Application Hearing Flops
Hearing of the bail application filed by jailed Tabliq Leader, Amir Ummar Sheikh Muhammad Yunus Kamoga flops before the Court of Appeal this morning because the DPP’s office was not ready with a response to his application.
Kamoga who brought to the Court of Appeal amidst tight security, appeared before Justice Christopher Madrama but hearing could not proceed without DPP’s response.
Prosecution’s Lillian Omara informed court that DPP’s office learnt of Kamoga’s application last Friday, and they needed a week to file a response by 25th this month, prompting Justice Madrama to adjourn the bail hearing to 2nd. May, and further remanded the Shiekh back to Luzira Prison.
Kamoga was last year sentenced to life in jail after the International Crimes Division of the High court convicted him of Terrorisim charges committed through verbal utterances against slain Muslim Clerics.
