Sexual Harassment in Institutions put on Laziness
The Vice Chancellor Kyambogo University Elly Katunguka attributes the high sexual harassment cases in higher institutions of learning to lazy students and parents neglecting their children in terms of support while at university.
This as officials from the ministry of Education headed by Education Minister Janat Museveni appeared before parliament’s select committee investigating acts of sexual violence in schools to give in their submission on how this vice can be put to an end.
Katunguka did not spare the fact that girls at university tend to be lazy that they don’t want to concentrate and work as required of them by their lecturers hence in the end they seduce lectures into sex for marks since they want to finish their courses and graduate.
According to the statistics from the ministry of Education, 25% of the girl children drop out of schools due to sexual violence that some end in pregnancies.
